Realizing that without adequate infrastructure, the pace of adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) could be severely curtailed, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed officials to prepare a comprehensive and forward-looking plan for setting up EV charging stations, combining government initiatives with the active participation of the private sector.
Mr. Rao, who chaired a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat in Hyderabad on Friday (April 17, 2026) to review and accelerate rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the state, emphasized that a strong and extensive charging network is essential to build confidence among EV users and meet the growing demand for electric vehicles.
