Kannada writer and activist Devanur Mahadev wrote an open letter to Chief Minister Siddaraiaha and invited him to recommend the report of HN Nagamohan Das Commission on an internal reserve, which was made “in accordance with the spirit of the Supreme Court’s judgment”.
Cabinet meeting
The letter comes before a special meeting of the state cabinet on Tuesday to discuss the report that was submitted to the government of 4 August. Dalit left and right communities were divided in the report, the first demanding it first and called the second and called it “unscientific”.
In his letter, Mr. Mahadeva says he writes in the middle of “confusion and anxiety” that the implementation of a message can be pushed indefinitely because of the controversies that surround it. With the government recruitment process associated with the implementation of internal reservation, the writer expressed concern that postponing could lead to thousands of young people to denounce employment.
The letter also fired to increase the reservation for the planned caste (SC) and the planned tribes (ST), which they claim to end part of the confusion.
Mahadeva, who praised the commission for covering 94% of the population and a thorough survey, also said, “This does not mean that the objections to the report should be postponed aside.”
He said that tourism of a quantum of quota and expansion of powers and functions of the SC and ST Commission for the periodic revision of reservation policies in accordance with the data would end most of the confusion.
Protest on Monday
Meanwhile, Dalit Right groups increased their ante and announced protest against the report on Monday at the Freedom Park under the auspices of Karnataka Rajya Balagai Jathigal OKKOOT.
They claimed that the report was “unscientific, incomplete and prepared with the intentions of Mala Fide” because it goes against the interest of communities Dalit Right. They demanded that the government refuse the report and conduct a new survey.
