Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi said any private management or individuals providing accommodation to foreigners must compulsorily register their details online within 24 hours of their arrival.
In a statement on Sunday (October 4, 2026), the SP said that hotels, guesthouses, private house owners, hospitals, hostels, ashrams, nurseries, educational institutions and other establishments hosting foreign nationals must upload arrival, stay and departure information to FRRO and FRO offices through digital mode.
Under Section 8 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025, details of passports, visas, personal details and accommodation should be entered and submitted within 24 hours. The management must not be careless in registration, he said.
Warning of strict action, Dudi said failure to register details through Form III and Form C of the portal will result in a fine of ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 1 lakh or imprisonment of two to seven years or both under Section 23(b) of the Act.
He said hotels and institutions must strictly follow legal procedures while providing accommodation. Foreigners coming to the district for work, education, health services or tourism must respect Indian laws and have valid visas and passports.
