Four houses were destroyed and 40 were damaged in Palakkad in heavy rain, which, according to the district officials, threw the district since Saturday afternoon.
14 houses were damaged in Kulkalur in Pattambi Taluk. 11 houses were damaged in Koppam. In the village of Palakkayam, Mannarkkad Taluk, one house was damaged when two houses were damaged in the village of Agali in Attappady Taluk.
In Palakkad Taluk, each house was damaged in Kodumba, Mankar and Akathethara and eight houses in Mannoor. One house was damaged in the village of Nellaya in Ottapalam Taluk.
Four houses destroyed in the rain were in Malampuzha (two), Kulakkalur and Mannoor.
The district received an average of 78.89 mm rain in 24 hours between Saturday and Sunday morning.
