Surprise, surprise! The Pakistani opener and part-time off-Spinner Saim Ayub climbed to place No. 1 in the ICC T20i ranking for versatile men. In the last update released on Wednesday, October Saim was displaced by Hardik Pandy from the top of the graphs.
Saim Ayub raised four places to become the new Numero Uno among the versatile in the shortest format of the game. 23 now has 241 evaluation points, eight more than Hardik Pandya.
It is a surprising climb because Saim enjoyed more success with the ball than a bat in the recently closed Asia Cup. While in seven matches he raised eight goals at an impressive economic rate of 6.40 for more than, its primary responsibility – launching – brought modest returns. Saim managed only 37 runs on average less than four.
Actually Saim wrapped four ducks in Asia Cupincluding one against India. In the finals he managed to start, but was released to 14 – goal, which launched a Pakistani collapse when they lost the last nine goal for just 33 runs against India.
His recent bat record renders a worrying picture. In its last 10 T20is, SAIM exceeded the 20-running brand only once. While it has grown to a reliable off-spinner and shows a number of variations, its branding form has made it clear from its return, which excluded it from the masters trophy.

While Saim’s development as a pitcher was encouraging, former Pakistanian crickets urged the team leadership to give the younger room and support the rediscovery of its branding form.
Only recently Saim Ayub was omitted from the test group for the upcoming domestic series against South Africa. Many of them indicated that its omission was associated with its decreasing launch return in the T20is, raising new questions about its workload and the direction of his career.
