When he talked to the Hindu, Mr. Amit Yogi said that the statue was to be unveiled on May 29, the fifth anniversary of the death of the deceased leader. “My father was the leader of Chhattisgarh and Jyotipur was his birthplace. The removal of his statue clearly injured people’s sentiments,” he said.
In the Facebook post, Mr. Jogi also questioned the legal status and order in Chhattisgarh and introduced the incident to the perspective. “The statue is uprooted from the square and thrown into waste and government administration will not even get a clue. It is not a sushhasan tihaar (Festival of Good Administration, Field Program of the BJP government), but Sushasan Bimaar (helpless good government) in the state,” he wrote.
Previously, with his supporters, he organized a protest at the place where the statue was installed and threatened to go to hunger strike unless it was reinstalled.
Around 6 pm, Mr. Amit Jogi said that the statue was brought back to its original location and was in the process of reinstalling.
