Deputy CM inaugurates Rytha Mela and highlights initiatives aimed at farmers

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government’s concrete steps reflect its unwavering commitment to increase farmers’ incomes and ensure the profitability of agriculture.

He said the Congress government had created history by directly crediting ₹9,000 crore to farmers’ bank accounts under the Rythu Bharosa scheme in just nine days.

Mr. Vikramarka along with Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao inaugurated the mega Rythu Mela at Jagannadhapuram in Chintakani mandal of Khammam district on Thursday.

The event was organized ahead of the Rythu Ashirvada Sabha, which will be addressed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Jagannadhapuram on Friday.

He said farmers’ welfare and agricultural development remain top priorities of the government, with thousands of crores being invested in irrigation, agriculture, paddy procurement, MARKFED activities and other farmer-focused initiatives.

He attacked the opposition parties, accusing them of spreading false propaganda and said they had no moral right to talk about the welfare of farmers.

He criticized the previous BRS regime, alleging that it had spent state resources on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP), the current state of which is visible to all.

Irrigation projects built by previous Congress governments decades ago are still intact and continue to provide irrigation to farmers, he said, referring to Nagarjunasagar, Sriramsagar and Kadem projects.

Mr. Vikramarka said the Rythu Ashirvada Sabha is being organized to showcase the Congress government’s flagship initiatives and new projects aimed at making agriculture-dependent districts greener and more prosperous.
