Delhi woke up to dense fog on Tuesday morning which reduced visibility in the area. However, no flights were reportedly canceled and traffic at the Delhi airport continued smoothly even after midnight.
A visual from the Dwarka Express in Delhi showed dense fog engulfing the city in the early hours of the morning, reducing visibility to less than 50 metres.
In its latest update at 8 am, the Delhi airport said, “Flight operations are running smoothly as visibility at the airport has improved.

According to the Met Dept, maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are likely to be in the range of 21°C to 23°C and 7°C to 9°C respectively.
Minimum temperature is expected to be above normal (0.2°C to 2.2°C) and maximum temperatures are also expected to be above normal (0.6°C to 2.6°C) in Delhi.
IMD fog warning
In a fog warning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted “dense to very dense fog” for the morning of 30 December in several regions, including Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and parts of northeast, east and north India.
The Met Office also said the fog would “severely reduce visibility”, making travel risky, and advised people taking to the road to drive slowly, use fog lights and avoid unnecessary driving.

In its bulletin, the IMD has predicted dense to very dense fog during night/morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and West Uttar Pradesh till December 31; East Uttar Pradesh till January 1, 2026 with subsequent reduction.
It also predicted dense fog in isolated pockets over Jammu and north Madhya Pradesh till December 30 and Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Bihar till January 5; Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand by December 31 and Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur by January 3.
Dense fog is likely to prevail over West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha till January 3.

IMD cold wave warning
The meteorological agency has predicted cold wave conditions in isolated areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh till December 30; Odisha by December 31 and Himachal Pradesh from January 1 to 3, 2026.
The Met department also predicted severe cold daytime conditions in isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh on 31 December and 1 January; Uttarakhand on December 30; Bihar by December 31; West Uttar Pradesh on 30th December and East Uttar Pradesh till 31st December.
The IMD has warned of an increased likelihood of various ailments such as flu, runny nose or nasal congestion or nosebleeds in areas where a cold wave is expected, which usually starts or worsens due to prolonged exposure to cold.
