Kerala Yukthivadi Sangham (Kerala Rationalists’ Association) urged the state government to take legislation to limit inhuman and evil practices and black magic.
On the second day, the state government reported that the Cabinet decided not to continue in the legislation, even though it was considering a bill, prevention of kerals, and the eradication of inhuman evil practices, witchcraft and black magic, which was drawn up after the report for the Reforms Commission.
The head of the Association said that nine state governments in the country have passed such legislation. Legislation must be brought to the liberation of believers from the exploitation of maintained under the cover of religious vortex.
It was high time for the state to adopt legislation with regard to the growing number of inhuman and evil practices in society, said the leaders of the KN Anilkucar, Rajagopal Vakathanami, TK Shakthidharan, Shooranad Gopan and Santhosh Manavam.
