Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy criticized the central government’s proposal to increase the number of Lok Sabha seats by 50% across all states, arguing that the move would disproportionately benefit the northern states while the southern states would remain politically marginalized.
In the central government’s new proposals, the total strength of the Lok Sabha is expected to rise from the current 543 seats to 816, an additional 273 seats, he said in an informal chat with reporters here.
