
In the next two years, up to one million stray dogs will be microchi -go in the national capital, the Minister of Development Delhi Kapil Misra said on Wednesday.
This program will be carried out in cooperation with the UN Development Program (UND) in the next two years, said the Minister.
Misra ordered that the census and dog monitoring would soon be implemented to ensure accurate data and stronger future planning.
The Animal Care Council organized a meeting on Wednesday at the Delhi Secretariat, during which many important decisions were taken.
The aim of the meeting was to consider various questions about the good life conditions of animals and prepare a specific action plan for Delhi, the official statement said.
As the world rabies approaching, it was also decided that comprehensive measures to control rabies would be taken in Delhi, the statement said.
These steps include preventing incidents for bite of dogs and digitizing the vaccination process.
It was also decided at the meeting that registration of domestic animals in Delhi would be obliged to establish a special monitoring committee.
Early, all related rules will be introduced and each regional committee will be activated to ensure monitoring and local level negotiations, the Minister said.
MCD set the feed point for stray dogs
The chairman of the Permanent Committee for the Municipal Company Dilli (MCD) Satya Sharma ordered officials to set up the points of feeding dogs at each department of the city.
This step came in the Supreme Court, which urged MCD to act immediately to get into the threat of a dog bite.
Three to four seats in each department will be identified in coordination with the local city councilor, where these feeding points will be set up, Sharma said.
He stressed that MCD intensifies sterilization and vaccination units in the centers of animal contraception (ABC) throughout the city.
The subcommittee is working on related strategies to control the population of vicious dogs and prevent the spread of diseases such as rabies.
Sharma said that unregulated feeding people in public areas often lead to the creation of packages, resulting in conflicts and incidents for dog pieces.
Sharma called on all advice, residents and voluntary organizations to cooperate in this initiative.
