
On the afternoon of 9th September, people outside the Hauz Qazi police station were shocked when they saw the currencies flying through the air. The assistant of the Sub-Invspektor Rrakesh Kumar was caught by the police team in Delhi £15,000 from a man.
Realized he was imprisoned, Kumar threw cash, 30 £500 notes, in the air. The passers -by hurried to catch the notes. While the officers have recovered £10 000, the rest disappeared.
Kumar was immediately arrested and a case under the Corruption Act was registered. Reportedly demanded a bribe to stop the false accusation against the Bazaar Sita RAM.
“The complainant turned to a vigilance with a written complaint and informed that probably Rrakesh Kumar called him at 12:30 at the Hauz Qazi police station to add a bribe,” Indian Express said.
As the sting operation has developed
Around 12:30 the complainant entered the Hauz Qazi police station with a fee in the trap. Later he and probably Rrakesh Kumar went out.
The complainant gave a predetermined signal of the Vigilance team. When the officers threw themselves in, Kumar threw cash in the air. The passers -by quickly grabbed some of the notes before the officers of the alertness could ensure.
“The complainant turned to a wig with a written complaint and reported that Rrakesh Kumar probably called him at 12:30 at the Hauz Qazi police station to add a bribe,” the officer said.
“When the members of the Vigilance team rushed to detain the accused, Kumar threw monetary notes into the air …” added the officer.
In total, £10 000 was obtained from the place. But, £5,000 were taken by the audience and could not be traced. The police confirmed that the sting was successful, but the missing amount was the result of chaos during the arrest.
Will Rrakesh Kumar be punished?
According to Indian law, every civil servant calls for money, prefers or rewards for work that is part of their work, a crime. Although the work is not actually done incorrectly, the act of request or accepting an advantage is itself a crime.
The punishment is strict, with the conditions of prison from three to seven years and fines. If the fault is proven, the Kumar Kumar will probably face similar fines.
