Delhi SIR: How To Fill Form If Your Name Is Not In Electoral Rolls 2002 | Today’s news

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, which began in Delhi on June 30 with the enumeration phase, is underway. According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) status report issued on July 9, over one million enumeration forms have been distributed. Meanwhile, around 5.75 million completed forms have been digitized.

To ensure that the electoral rolls remain accurate and up-to-date for more than 1.45 million voters in Delhi, the BLOs have been entrusted with the task of door-to-door verification ahead of future elections in the capital. According to the data, 74.70 percent of the capital’s 1,45,10,298 voters have already received the census forms.

With the SIR process underway, many residents in the national capital are wondering how to fill the forms provided by the stall level officers (BLOs) and submit them by the July 29 deadline. We have provided sample census forms here which contain pre-printed details like Voter Name, EPIC Number, Address, Assembly Constituency, Parliamentary Constituency, Photograph and State Name. If any of the voters have not received the form yet, they must contact their designated BLO or download it from the Election Commission website.

There are two sections in the form — “Details of voter in the voter list of the latest SIR” and “Details of relative whose name appears in the previous column in the latest SIR”.

How to fill Delhi SIR form?

Below are the steps to fill Delhi SIR forms:

  1. Voters have to map their details with the previous SIR exercise that was conducted between 2002 and 2005. The left side of the SIR form is for those voters who were part of the electoral rolls prepared during the previous revision in Delhi in 2002. Those who were voters of any state other than Delhi during the above period have to provide details of where they were enrolled.

Voters must provide the following relevant information:

2. What to do if the voter’s name is not in the earlier lists

If a voter’s name is not found on earlier rolls, a connection can be made through parents or grandparents whose names appeared on those records. This means that the section on the right needs to be filled with the details of the voter who was part of the previous SIR, indicating the relationship of the voter to it.

Moving to the bottom, voters have to enter their date of birth; mobile number; the name of the parent, guardian or spouse and their current EPIC number. It is important to note that it is not mandatory to provide Aadhar number as it is optional.

Residents living in Delhi prior to 2002 can verify their details by checking the 2002 electoral rolls on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Delhi. Those who were not part of the 2002 Electoral Roll must note down the details of relatives such as Name, State, Assembly Constituency, Constituency Number, Part Number and Serial Number. Complete the form with your signature or thumbprint and date. After filling up the required form, send it to the designated BLO who will provide acknowledgment of receipt upon submission.

The draft voter list will be published on August 5, followed by a window for complaints and objections that will last until September 4.
