Days after the high-intensity blast near the Red Fort Metro station, sources told ANI on Thursday that the suspects were allegedly planning to prepare about 32 old vehicles with explosives to carry out coordinated attacks at multiple locations.
Among those being watched are individuals linked to past terrorism cases, including those accused of blasting at Red Fort Dr. Muzammila, Dr. Adeela, Dr. Umar Nabi and Shaheen.

An explosion near the Red Fort complex in the state capital killed at least 12 people on November 10. “The death toll in the case has risen to 12. A total of 21 biological samples have been sent to FSL,” Delhi Police said.

1. Delhi Police has confirmed that the man who carried out the car blast near Red Fort was Dr Umar Un Nabi after forensic DNA tests matched his biological sample with that of his mother.
“DNA profiling has conclusively identified the deceased as Dr Umar Un Nabi. His sample was compared with his mother’s DNA to establish a relationship,” said a senior Delhi police officer.

The officer revealed that after the explosion, Umar’s leg was trapped between the steering wheel and the gas pedal, indicating that he was behind the wheel when the car exploded.
2. Intelligence sources said the accused have already started working on modifying the i20 and the EcoSport vehicle for potential use in the attacks.
“After the i20 and EcoSport, it has come to light that preparations are underway to prepare another 32 old vehicles that could be rigged with explosives,” a news source told ANI.

3. A red Ford EcoSport car, suspected to be linked to the Delhi Red Fort blast case, was traced and seized in Faridabad district’s Khandawali, police said.
Sources said the red Ford EcoSport is registered in the name of Dr Umar Un Nabi, who was allegedly driving the car at the time of the blast. The vehicle was suspected of being used by Umar for reconnaissance activities.
4. Security agencies have obtained the diaries of the Delhi blast case accused Dr. Umara and Dr. Muzammila. These diaries were recovered on Tuesday and Wednesday from Dr. Umar’s room number 4 and Muzammil’s room number 13.

The diaries contained code words that investigators are now piecing together. In it, he mentioned dates from November 8 to 12 – suggesting that planning for such an incident was going on during that period, sources told ANI.
The diary reportedly contained the names of around 25 persons, most of whom were from Jammu, Kashmir and Faridabad. The contents of the diary indicated that the explosion was to be carried out as part of a well-planned plot.
5. Preliminary investigations also revealed that the accused groups intended to move in pairs, each carrying multiple Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) for simultaneous attacks.
“About eight suspects planned to carry out a serial blast at four locations. They planned to move to four cities in pairs of two. Each group was to carry several IEDs,” sources in the investigating agency said.

6. Sources revealed that they raised the accused together for approx ₹20 lakhs in cash which was given to Umar Nabi for operating expenses.
The funds were allegedly used to purchase more than 20 cents of NPK fertilizer (NPK fertilizer is a mixture of the three nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) and can be used to mine explosive material) worth approximately ₹3 lakh from Gurugram, Nuh and adjoining areas, meant for preparation of IEDs.
There was also a dispute over money between Umar and Dr Mujammil, sources in the investigative agency said.

7. Investigators also revealed that Umar created a Signal app group consisting of two to four members to securely coordinate activities. “Umar created a group of two to four members on the Signal app,” sources said.
8. According to investigative agencies, Dr. Muzammil defected to Ansar Gazwat-Ul-Hind, an offshoot of ISIS, between 2021 and 2022 after maintaining contact with associates of the slain terrorists.
He was introduced to the network by Irfan, also known as Maulvi. The weapons obtained in 2023 and 2024 are believed to have been acquired by this module as part of their preparation to form an independent terrorist group.
