The accused has been identified as Soyab of Dhauj, Faridabad (Haryana). This is the seventh arrest in the case so far.
“The NIA investigation revealed that he also provided logistical support to terrorist Umar before the November 10 car bombing that killed several people and injured many others outside the capital’s Red Fort,” the agency said.
“The agency continues to pursue various leads in connection with the suicide attack and, in cooperation with the relevant police forces, is conducting a statewide search in an effort to identify and track others involved in the horrific attack,” the agency said.
The NIA had earlier arrested two accused persons and taken into custody four others who were earlier arrested by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Among them were Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the car used in the blast was registered; and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, who allegedly provided technical assistance to the terrorist involved in the deadly attack. They are currently in NIA custody.
