
Delhi Police has busted a fake toothpaste factory in Kanjhawala, Delhi. In a post on X on Friday, the Delhi Police Crime Branch said the “counterfeit Sensodyne unit” was detected by ER-1, the crime branch and the “mastermind” was arrested.
Police said the factory was raided and Sensodyne officials confirmed all the goods were counterfeit.

How the police busted a fake toothpaste factory
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a dispensary in Mahaveer Vihar on Thursday and seized a large quantity of fake toothpaste, empty tubes, packaging material, machinery, branded adhesive tapes, glue, heat gun and raw materials, the official said.
“Acting on intelligence, a police team raided the Kanjhawala factory and representatives of Sensodyne confirmed that all the goods were counterfeit,” Delhi Police said in a post on X.
They said: “Approximately 200kg of fake toothpaste, packaging and printing machinery and a large number of empty tubes and other packaging materials were recovered.”
“The owner of the fake toothpaste factory has been arrested by a police team,” they added.

“Unsanitary Production” — Video
Police said the fake toothpaste was manufactured under unsanitary conditions. “Unhygienic production posed serious health risks to consumers,” police wrote on X, sharing images and videos from the fake factory.
Meanwhile, the police told PTI, “The seized goods were worth several crores and posed serious health risks due to unsanitary manufacturing conditions.”
“During the operation, six workers were seen filling locally prepared paste into tubes of a well-known brand of toothpaste. The workers told the police that one Hari Om Mishra, a resident of Rohini, was running the unit,” the officer said.
He said Hari Om Mishra, 58, who operated from rented premises, was arrested for running an illegal unit without a license, accounts or authorization documents.
Police told PTI that they found around 1,800 filled fake toothpaste tubes along with over 10,000 empty tubes and over 1,200 wrapped tubes. About 130 kilograms of blue-colored paste stored in barrels were also seized.
The crime branch added that the “successful operation” was led by Inspector Ashish Sharma under the guidance of ACP Sunil Srivastava and the overall supervision of DCP Pankaj Kumar.
Latest debacle of Delhi Police
Recently, Delhi Police busted a racket selling soft drinks and crackers by changing the expiry dates in Dwarka. Several accused have been arrested.
A supplier involved in illegal supply of arms was also arrested in South Delhi and pistols and cartridges were recovered.

In a separate case, wanted gang criminal Sonu Dariyapur, wanted in a severance case, was arrested in Outer North district.
Police also busted an illegal gas filling agency in Sitapuri area and seized a large number of LPG cylinders.
