Police confirms the event, compensation for the victim’s family
Hukma RAM, another DCP from Nový Delhi, described the incident as a “tragic accident” and assured that there would be strict legal measures.
“An unfortunate accident took place here. Police are taking steps by law. We will provide all possible assistance to the deceased family and a compensation will be provided,”
RAM told journalists and added that the CCTV shots would be reviewed as part of an ongoing investigation.
Other fatal accidents reported in Delhi
The tragic incident came on the same day as another fatal accident on the highway in Delhi, where the scooter rider died after colliding with the car Honda. The driver fled from the scene immediately after the accident and left the scooter completely mangled.
In a separate accident on Sunday, the BMW was hit by a motorcycle on a ring road near Dhaula Kuan and killed Navjot Singh, a representative of the Ministry of Finance. Singh rode with his wife when there was a collision around 13:30.
Eye witnesses said the woman was driving the BMW involved in the crash. She and her husband later took a taxi to rush the injured to the hospital, but did not take Singha directly to treat.
The police later identified drivers as Gaganpreet Makkad, 38 years, who was asked why she couldn’t take the victim to the nearest hospital. Makkad claimed that she was in a panic and knew only about one hospital where her children were treated during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Makkad was subsequently arrested and the Delhi court has now prolonged her judicial link to 27 September. The court also granted the police more time to present arguments concerning its action in connection with the case.
