On Wednesday, the High Court in Delhi issued a petition notification for a petition that was looking for a direction to allow women to enter the armed forces through the test of combined defense services (CDS).
The divisional bench composed of the chief judge DK UPphyaya and the justice Tushar Rao Gedel issued the announcement and sought to respond to the request.

The petition filed by one Kush Kalra said: “If women were denied entry into the armed forces through the CD, the country would be deprived of officers such as col. Sofiya Qureshi, who gained national attention during the Sindoor operation”.
The petition claimed that the notification of women in the armed forces through CDS was a violation of the fundamental right to practice any profession as granted under the Constitution.
“The career of a permanent authorized officer of the armed forces is considered to be one of the most respected and amazing professions in India, the ban on women’s request for this profession violates their right to practice the profession,” he said.
