On Wednesday, the High Court in Delhi released a summons in a lawsuit filed by Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor’s Children – Samira Kapur (20) and Kiaan Raj Kapur (15) – against Priya Kapur, who was looking for a share of their late father and entrepreneur Sunjay Kapur’s £30 000-Crore property, informed Living Law.
The bench led by Judge Jyoti Singh refused to immediately pass the order to the status quo on the Sunjay Kapur real estate, but asked her wife Priya Kapur to list the assets held by the entrepreneur. The thing will be heard next 9 October 2025.
The leader Mahesh Jethmalani, who appeared for children, commented on development and said “the suit will be registered now. It must make certain discoveries about Sunjay Kapur personal assets,” she said on Wednesday.
Background
On Tuesday, Samira and Kiaan Kapur moved the High Court in Delhi and claimed that they were unjustly excluded after his death by Sunjay Kapur.
The children represented by their mother Karisma Kapoor claimed that Priya Kapura (née Sachdev), the third wife of Sunjay Kapur, for whom he was married at the time of his death, manipulated the will to acquire all his assets.
The court of court appointed Priya Kapur, her smaller son, Kapura’s mother of Rani Kapur, and the alleged executor of will, Skradha Suri Marwah, as defendants, said Bar & Bench.
The attacked will of 21 March 2025 states that Sunjay Kapur left his entire personal wealth to his wife Priya Kapur. The court of court claims that the defendants conspired with two others – Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma – to create the original will in favor of Priya Kapur.
What are the requirements of Sunjaye Kapura?
Sunjay Kapur, 53, died of a heart attack on June 12 while playing Polo in Surrey, UK. His children claimed that until their father’s death, they share a close relationship with him, including frequent trips, holidays and regular involvement in his business and personal milestones.
Their action accuses Priya kapura of originally denial of the existence of any will and claims that all Sunjay’s asset was held under the confidence of RK Family Trust. Later, however, she introduced the will, with the exception of other legal heirs. Children therefore asked the court to declare them as a legal heir to Class I.
The court also asks to approve a section on a section that grants them one fifth of each of their father’s assets. While the case is proceeding, the court is also trying to freeze all the personal assets belonging to the Sunjay Kapur until the problem is resolved, according to the B&B report.
