The Dilli government will invite the Supreme Court to allow the use of green flip flops for Diwali in the capital, the main Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday.
In an official statement, Main Minister Delhi Rekha Gupta said, “We call on the Supreme Court to allow the use of green frogs for Diwali.”

Diwali is the most important religious festival in Indian culture. Given the sentiments of millions of Delhi’s inhabitants, “our government appealed to the Supreme Court to allow the green flip flops to go in Delhi during the festive period,” the main minister said.
The government “repeats its obligation to effectively reduce pollution and protect the environment and ensures the Honest Supreme Court on its complete cooperation in the implementation of any issued directives on this matter.”
The statement also states that these green flip flops must be manufactured by authorized organizations and certified by competent and relevant departments.
The Supreme Court allows the production of green flip flops in Delhi-NCR
The Supreme Court recently issued a directive that allows the production of green flip flops in the Delhi-National Capital (NCR) area. However, this permit is conditional: the finished products must not be sold in the NCR itself.
The bench, which consists of the main judge of India, Br Gavai, together with Justices to Vinod Chandran and NV Anjaria, granted this authorized to certified green flip -flops manufacturers. In order to qualify for these manufacturers, they must have valid permits from both the Neeri (National Institute for Environmental Engineering) and from Peso (Oil and Explosives Security Organization).
“Meanwhile, we allow manufacturers who have certified green biscuits, as certified by neeri, as well as peso to produce. However, this will be the subject of the manufacturer’s obligation before this court that they would not hear the matter for listening to hearing in October 8.
The court also ordered the Central Government to formulate the proposal concerning the revision of the absolute ban on the production of flip flops across Dilli-NCR. This proposal must adhere to the consultation process involving all the relevant parties.
