A Delhi court on Tuesday (Dec 16, 2025) granted the Goa police a two-day transit remand for Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, owners of the Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, where 25 people were killed in a fire on December 6.
Both the accused, who fled the country shortly after the incident, were deported from Thailand to India. A team from the Goa police arrested them at the Delhi airport and produced them before Magistrate Twinkle Chawla at the Patiala House Court, who granted two days of remand against the police’s request for three days.
Goa Police Superintendent Surjendu Sankar Das told reporters that the accused would be taken to Goa on Wednesday. He added that the court ordered a medical examination for the accused at Safdarjung Hospital and allowed them to take medicines prescribed by their doctors. The accused were also allowed to carry slippers, clothes and glasses.
Last week, the court refused to grant anticipatory transit bail to the Luther brothers.
The police have already arrested five managers and employees of the nightclub in connection with the fire.
