
The US State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA) on Tuesday expressed its condolences over the blast in Delhi near the iconic Red Fort that killed around 9 people and injured several others. The explosion on the evening of November 10 was reported in a slow-moving Hyundai i20 near Red Fort Gate Metro Station Number 1.
In a post on X, SCA wrote: “Our hearts go out to those affected by the horrific explosion in Delhi. We continue to monitor the situation closely. Our condolences to the families who have lost loved ones. We pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
The US Embassy has alerted its citizens living in India and issued a travel advisory and security alert. In its travel advisory, the US Embassy said: “Avoid areas around Red Fort and Chandni Chowk in Delhi and crowds.” He urged U.S. citizens to be vigilant, monitor local media updates, be aware of their surroundings and stay alert in places frequented by tourists.

Update on Delhi blast probe
According to the latest update on the ongoing investigation, Delhi Police has obtained CCTV footage showing the actions of the suspect just before the blast. According to an ANI report, he was seen entering and exiting the parking lot. The footage revealed that the suspect was alone at the time, according to Delhi Police sources.
Giving an update on the investigation, the sources added, “Investigators are now tracking the route towards Daryaganj while over 100 CCTV clips, including footage from nearby toll booths, are being examined to ascertain the full movement of the vehicle.”
According to an ANI report, the Delhi Police detained four suspects for questioning in a search operation that lasted overnight. According to Delhi Police sources, Delhi Police searched hotels in Paharganj, Daryaganj and surrounding areas and checked the hotel registers.
The ambassador of the European Union in India reacts
The Ambassador of the European Union to India, the Canadian Embassy in India, the Ambassador of France and the Ambassador of the Egyptian Embassy also expressed their condolences on the fatal incident.
In a post on X, EU Ambassador to India Herve Delphin said: “Our deepest condolences to the victims of the Delhi blast. While the Indian authorities’ investigation continues, our first thoughts are with the families who lost loved ones and with all those injured, we wish them a speedy recovery. We stand with the Indian people at this time of shock and grief.”
French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou wrote in a post on X: “On behalf of the French people and government, I express our deepest condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the #RedFort blast. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and we wish a full and complete recovery to all those injured.”
Reacting to the harrowing incident, the Egyptian Embassy in India said: “On behalf of the people and government of the Arab Republic of #Egypt, we extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those affected by the #RedFort blast. Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved and we wish a speedy and full recovery to all those injured.”
The Canadian Embassy in India said in a statement: “Canada extends its condolences to the families of those killed in yesterday’s horrific explosion in Delhi and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.”
