Delhi Blast News: Union Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that the explosion hit a Hyundai i20 near Red Fort at the Subhash Marg traffic light around 7 pm. A car explosion near the Red Fort metro station left eight dead and injured 24 people, mostly pedestrians, and damaged several vehicles.
Amit Shah noted that preliminary reports suggest that some people may have lost their lives, though further confirmation is awaited.
The Union Home Minister said teams from the Delhi Crime Branch and Special Branch reached the spot within 10 minutes of the incident being reported. NSG and NIA along with Forensic Science Laboratory experts have launched a comprehensive investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being scrutinized and senior police officials, including the Delhi Police Commissioner, are already present at the spot.
“We are looking into all possibilities and will conduct a thorough investigation considering all possibilities,” Amit Shah said, adding that the findings would be shared with the public after verification.

The Home Minister arrived at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital to meet those injured in the blast. He is also expected to make a statement to the media after his visit.

After arriving at LNJP Hospital, Amit Shah met Delhi Police Commissioner, Satish Golcha.
A top police officer today briefed the home minister about the situation after the blast in Delhi near Red Fort. Other officials were also present at the meeting.

Shah also met the medical team and the injured persons at the hospital.
I can’t say if it’s a terrorist attack: Shah
Speaking to the media at LNJP Hospital, Amit Shah said that it is not yet possible to confirm whether today’s blast in Delhi was a terrorist attack.
“We are keeping all angles open and investigating from all angles. It is very difficult to say what caused the incident. Until the samples obtained from the blast site are analyzed by FSL and NSG, it is difficult to say anything about it. But we do not consider any angle closed. We will investigate all angles with determination,” he said.
Shah further confirmed eight dead and 24 injured in the Delhi blast.
“I hope our agencies will come to a conclusion about the cause of the blast in a short time and the top team of FSL has also arrived. I got a call from the prime minister immediately after receiving the news of the blast. I also informed the prime minister after receiving the preliminary information. I am leaving from here to visit the site and a meeting will be held tomorrow morning with a team of senior officials in the home ministry,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation after the blast in Delhi and spoke to Home Minister Amit Shah, the prime minister said in a post on X.
An explosion occurred near the Gate 1 Red Fort metro station in the state capital.
NSG experts and NIA investigators rushed to the blast site, sources said. The NSG team consisted of explosives experts, while the NIA team consisted of investigators with experience in terrorism cases.
