
Delhi blast case: India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which assesses and certifies educational institutions, on November 12, 2025 issued a notice to Faridabad’s Al-Falah University for displaying fake accreditation on its website, news agency ANI reported.
This visibility announcement comes amid investigations into the Delhi blast case in which several doctors from the same Al-Falah University have been arrested for their alleged involvement and association with the main accused in the investigation, named Dr. Umar Nabi.
NAAC heat at Al-Falah University
The NAAC on Wednesday issued a show cause notice to Faridabad’s Al-Falah University, highlighting that the educational institution is running its operations without accreditation or volunteering for “Cycle-1 for A&A”, claiming to do so.
“NAAC is brought to the notice that Al-Falah University, which has not been accredited or volunteered for Cycle 1 for A&A, has publicly exhibited on its website,” the official notification said.
NAAC pointed out that Al-Falah University is owned by the Al-Falah Charitable Trust, which operates three colleges on the same campus that claim to have official accreditation.
“Al-Falah University is an initiative of Al-Falah Charitable Trust which runs three colleges on the campus, namely Al Falah School of Engineering and Technology (since 1997, graded A by NAAC), Brown Hill College of Engineering and Technology (since 2008) and Al-Falah School of Education and Training, which is A006, since 2006. It is bad for the public, especially parents, students and stakeholders,” it said. official notification.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) asked the educational institution a series of questions on why legal or disciplinary action should not be taken against the university, why the NAAC should not recommend the Haryana government to take action, etc.
Links to the Delhi blast case
The Red Fort blast in Delhi has been linked to Al-Falah University after several media reports highlighted that the people allegedly linked to the Red Fort blast earlier this week all worked at the same educational institution.
The main accused in the investigation, named Dr. Umar Nabi, along with his two accomplices, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel and Dr. Shaheen Shahid, all worked at Al-Falah University. The three accused along with Dr. Adeel are individuals linked to past cases of terrorism.
Mint had earlier reported that the man who carried out the car blast in Delhi on Monday, November 10, 2025, was Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who was identified after his DNA sample was compared with that of his mother.
At the scene, Umar’s foot was found wedged between the steering wheel and the gas pedal, indicating that he was driving the car when the bomb exploded. Reports indicate that an investigation into the development is still ongoing.
