In order to replace the delay in the appointment of a guest faculty for government universities in the state, the academic calendar for university and postgraduate courses for the academic year 2025-26.
The Ministry of Higher Education on Tuesday issued a revised calendar of events, followed by 25 state universities on Tuesday. This change will have an impact on 3.2 Lakh’s students in 440 government universities in the first class in Karnataka.
The revised calendar differs from one university to another, depending on their earlier schedule. For example, the semester at Mysore University was originally planned from July 30 to October 23, but was now extended to 22 November. For the University of Bengaluru, the end of the semester is now on November 29 instead of the first 28 October.
This step is the effort of the department to compensate for the loss of classes that students have suffered if there are no visiting faculties. This extension allows students to prepare for tests with less pressure.
On Monday, the government ordered approximately 10,500 guest lecturers who previously worked for the ongoing semester.
