On Thursday (August 14, 2025), the Union’s government has announced prices of bravery for the armed forces staff, including those who played a key role in the success of the Sindoor operation.
President Droucadi Murmu approved the 127 Gallantry Awards award and 40 major prizes for services for the Armed Forces staff and the central armed police forces on the eve of Independence Day, the Ministry of Defense of the Union. The President also approved the Tatrakshak medal for five Indian Coast Guard staff.
The prices include four Kirti Chakras; 15 chakras virus; 16 Shaurya Chakras; two medals in hay (Gallantry); 58 Medal of hay (bravery); Six Medals Nao hay (bravery); 26 Medal Vayu hay (Gallantry); Seven medals Sarvottam Yudh Seva; nine medals Uttam Yudh Seva; And 24 medals Yudh Seva.
The Sub-Invcessor MoHD Imteyaj and Constable Deepak Chingakham of Border Security Force (BSF) were posthumously awarded the Chakra virus as recognition of their exceptional courage and selfless leadership in the face of an unfavorable situation, BSF said.
The government granted 58 hay medals, including two Agniveers. Six Nao hay medals were awarded to the Indian Navy staff and 26 Vayu Medals to the Indian Air Force Staff. The medals were awarded for a brave contribution in the service of the nation during the Sindoor operation and other operations performed by the armed forces. The list of awards includes pilots, officers and Jawans operating the S-400 air defense system.
The Sarvottam Yudh Seva medal was awarded to the CEO of the Ghai Rajiv, the CEO of the military operations for the Sindoor Operation; More Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh (Retd.), Commander of the Lighting Naval Command of the Commanding Flag; Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, vice president of aviation staff; Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, air officer commanding boss, Southern Air Command; Air Marshal Jeetandra Mishhra, Air officer commanding headquarters Western Air; and Air Marshal Ak Bharti, CEO, Air Operations.
Central Reserve Police (CRPF) received 23 medals in bravery, the highest among the central armed police forces, including three Shaurya Chakras and 20 medals in the bravery for Valor in Jammu and Kashmir and in anti-Maoist operations.
On May 7, India launched a Sindoor operation, during which many missile strikes focused on the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan, occupied Kashmir in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The operation focused on nine places, including terrorist camps in Muridke, Lashkar-E-Taba and Bahawalpur, Jaish-E-Mohammed headquarters.
The President also approved 290 references by 115 Indian army staff, five Indian Navy staff, 167 Indian Air Force staff, and three border roads council staff.
During the Sindoor operation, the Indian air defense systems shot down six Pakistani aircraft, while the air-based missiles hit the air base and further installations of defense in the neighboring country, which caused considerable damage, recently said AP Singh.
