One of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidates, who suffered defeat in Mannarkkad village on Saturday, has decided not to dwell on her defeat. Instead, she lifted her spirits by joining the victory celebrations of a BJP candidate in the neighboring Karakurissi panchayat, dancing happily alongside her BJP friend who was elected from Pallikkurupu ward.
Anju PS, LDF candidate from Nambiyampadi (24) in Mannarkkad municipality, was defeated by Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) candidate Sheeja Ramesh by 277 votes. Undeterred by the failure, she decided not to let the defeat dampen her spirits.
Anju later joined the victory celebrations of BJP candidate Sneha CR who was elected from Pallikurup ward (6) Karakurissi panchayat. Sneha, who defeated Congress candidate Jyoti Lakshmi by 23 votes, was the BJP’s sole winner in Karakurissi.
Explaining her presence at the celebrations, Anju said she joined because the two shared a close friendship.
