Welkinrim, a deep technological startup specializing in advanced propsystems of drive drones, has increased the 4.76 crore in its last round of financing. The investment includes CRORE 2.35 GBP from GSF, CRS 1.5 GBP from Campus Angels Network and other AC Ventures (0.5 CRORE) and Forge Innovation and Ventures (0.4 Crore).
The Welkinrim, incubated in the IIT-Madras incubation cell, focuses on the development of new generation and electronic speed regulators (ESC)-critical components in the electric drone drive system. Motors and ESC are designed for OEM customers in the UAV sector, including drones manufacturers for defense, supervision, agriculture and logistics.
Startup will use funds to expand its own production capabilities for high -performance drone engines and ESC and verify products with Indian OEM drones across defense and commercial segments. Funds will also be used to strengthen the main engineering team and invest in advanced test infrastructure. Welkinrim focuses on partnerships with drones manufacturers in India and abroad.
“This investment will help us take our laboratory drives to the market and continues to focus on performance, efficiency and safety,” said Dinesh Natarajan, founder and CEO of Welkinrim.
K. Chandran, CEO of the Campus Angels Network, added: “Welkinrim’s innovation is to build accurate drive subsystems that are designed for performance, reliability and scale.
Nirmal Shah, GSF’s partner, said, “Welkinrim products are engaged in a critical gap in the Indian UAV supply chain and have strong global potential. This funding will help them move from prototyping to scaling.”
