Vellappally Natesan, General Secretary of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yoga, said on Sunday (January 25, 2026) that he is laying the Padma Bhushan for which he was selected at the feet of Sree Narayana Guru.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Natesan was selected for the award in the field of “Public Affairs”.
Mr. Natesan, the long-time general secretary of the SNDP Yogam, told The Hindu that he was happy to be selected. “It is in recognition of my services to society. It is also in recognition of SNDP Yogam and SN Trust. I lay this award at the feet of the Guru,” he said.
Hailing from Kanichukulangar in Alappuzha district, Mr. Natesan is also the secretary of Sree Narayana Trust, which manages several educational institutions in Kerala.
Born in September 1937, Mr. Natesan established himself as a businessman as early as 1996 when he first took over as General Secretary of the SNDP Yogam, a social organization dating back to 1903 that had a significant impact on social life in Kerala. ball.
On being elected to the Padma Bhushan, Mr. Natesan said it was equally a recognition of society and the (Ezhava) community that had equipped him for public life. “The support and cooperation from the people has equipped me for this role. So this award is also recognition for the company and the community,” he said.
