Parents of different adolescents, who died of pneumonia in Mukkom Hospital on Wednesday (July 16, 2025), complained of the Minister of Health that she was neglected in the Government Faculty (MCH), Kozhikode and the intensive care unit (ICU) was denied.
Suresh and Nisha’s daughter of Condotte in Malappuram was first admitted to the local hospital 10 July after a high fever, where MCH was handed over on 13 July.
The parents claimed that the doctors did not pay attention, even if the oxygen level had dropped and was held in the ward despite their deteriorating condition. They also claimed that doctors on the service stated that all fans were occupied and could not be made available. She was then moved to a private hospital in the city, but was later moved to Mukkom Hospital because the family could not afford to treat a private facility. The girl died on Wednesday at the hospital in Mukkom.
Meanwhile, MCH authorities have to respond to the claim. Resident physician Danish Mohammed said that the Ministry concerned was asked for a report.
