DC evaluates SIR training for electoral roll revision in Maddur

Deputy Commissioner Mandya Kumar attended a taluk level training workshop on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls at Government Tool Training Center College in Somanahalli, Maddur taluk on Thursday.

The workshop was organized as part of the electoral roll revision program of the Election Commission of India.

During the visit, Mr. Kumar directed the officials and staff to conduct the revision of the electoral roll in a responsible and transparent manner. According to him, inclusion, deletion, correction and change of address of voters should be done strictly in accordance with the instructions of the Election Commission.

He directed the officials to conduct thorough door-to-door verification of voter details and ensure that no eligible voter is omitted from the voter list. The requests received from the public should be reviewed on priority and dealt with within the stipulated time, he said.

The training covered processing of applications, verification of supporting documents, verification of voter details, use of online services and latest guidelines issued by the Election Commission. Stall Level Officers (BLOs), Supervisors, Nodal Officers and staff from various departments participated.

The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the arrangements at the training center and urged all officials to cooperate for the successful implementation of the special intensive revision programme.

Maddur Electoral Registration Officer, Maddur Municipal Council Commissioner, Election Officers and employees of various departments were present.
