Days after his residence in Jabalpur in Jabalpur, Jabalpur, an older mother was arrested arrested by CRORES and tiger skin, the officials said on Thursday (July 24, 2025).
On several raids between 22 and 23 July to 22nd July, the wing of economic crimes (EOW) of the state government attacked several places associated with Mr. Sarvate, deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Social Security, Jabalpur, including his residence and received allegedly disproportionate assets worth more than 6.75 GBP. EOW also got tiger skin, about 5.5 feet long, from his ancestors in Jabalpur.
CEO (DG), EOW, UPENDRA KUMAR JAIN told the Hindes that while Mr. Sarvate was booked according to the relevant provisions, including the Corruption Act, the Act on the Excess Tax, the Act on Wildwater Protection, the animal leather was handed over to the forest department for further action.
“We have shut the skin of the forest department because it concerns them, while we continue searching in other places associated with him (Mr. Sarvate),” he said.
Mr. Sarvate’s mother, Savitri Sarvate, 75, was arrested by the StF of the Forest Department on July 23 after revealing that she used the skin to sit at her house.
The Apoorv Sharma, Ranger, Forest Department, said it was booked according to various parts of the Act on the Protection of Wild Animals. He said that the family must still submit any ownership certificate for the animal trophy that is required for legal possession of such items as by law.
“She said that her father -in -law brought the skin in 1977 when he lived in the district of Mandel. But she claims she doesn’t know where the skin was coming from,” said Mr. Sharma.
“Because Mr. Sarvate is currently in custody, we will work with them and explore according to instructions from higher officials,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Subharanjan Dream, the main main conservator of the forest (PCF), said the ministry would check government records to verify that the skin was registered before mulling for further events.
