
David Warner (Image credit: X) NEW DELHI: Former Australian opener David Warner has landed in serious trouble after being charged with drink-driving following an incident in Maroubra, Sydney on Tuesday, reports news.com.au. Warner, who currently leads Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League, was pulled over by New South Wales police and subjected to a random breathalyzer test, Australian media reported.The test reportedly found that Warner had consumed alcohol over the legal limit. His blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.104 – more than twice the legal limit in Australia. As a result, Warner was charged, arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station.He was ordered to appear in court next month.“At around 5.30pm today (Sunday 5 April 2026) police were carrying out stationary random breath tests on Malabar Road, Maroubra,” a police statement read. “A van was seen that allegedly pulled up in front of the testing site and parked. Police officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Headquarters approached the vehicle and subjected the driver – a 39-year-old man – to a road test, which yielded a positive result.”“He was arrested and taken to Maroubra Police Station where a second test reportedly returned a reading of 0.104.“The man has been issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for a medium PCA charge to appear at Downing Center Local Court on Thursday 7 May 2026.”Warner made his last international appearance against India in the Super 8 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.This followed his retirement from Test cricket in January 2024 and from ODIs immediately after the 2023 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup.See also: IPL Live Score
