It was a walk with a difference, because on Thursday a unique march led “Harh Ghar Tiranga” in the city and led the unique march “Har Ghar Tiranga” before the day of independence.
The first dose of nine dasary elephants, led by Abhimanyu, was included in what the authorities referred to as “Elewalk”.
Elephants have been tested for the Dasar procession since the last few days and City Corporation (MCC) has conceived the idea of using this imagery to bring an impact on their purity.
The clerk said that the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign has been running before the day of independence since the last few years, but from the Ministry of Housing and urban affairs was a circular who took the opportunity to disseminate the message “Swachh Bharat”.
More than 150 people, including Porakarmikas, Commissioner MCC Shaikh Tanveer Asif, and other employees were part of “Elewalk”, except for higher officials and forest department staff. Many citizens and NGOs were also part of the procession and were increased slogans related to cleanliness and “swachhata”. The procession began from the Balarama Gate of the Mysuru Palace and after marching to the circle of Ayurveda College Circle returned to the same place.
“Elewalk” was also significant because the public report was sent to avoid the use of plastic flags. All officials and Mahouts of elephants waved Khadi flags to take home. “The use of elephants to display was considered to attract attention and leave a grade in public,” said MCC official.
Such initiatives are also calculated for the further edition of “Swachh Bharat”, said the clerk and pointed out that elephants were not used anywhere for the “Swachhata” campaign. ” Even if they were used, it is unlikely that someone would use nine elephants. This is something unique for Mouse, because preparations for Dasar coincided with the Independence Day, ”he added.
In the first edition of the “Swachh Bharat” campaign, Mysuru was included in the purest city in India, but in the edition of 2023 it slipped into the 27th position. However, in 2024Survey, whose results were recently announced, was clubed among the cities of the “Super Swachhh League”, which includes only urban local authorities, which constantly showed the highest performance in the previous editions of “Swachhh Survekshan”.
Although Mysuru is one of India’s sewage cities, there is a perception that this is not enough and the scale of cleanliness should be set higher.
