The platform offered Gyabi the opportunity to develop at his own pace, with the guidance of coaches who understood his potential. "The staff at Manchester City were fantastic; they knew how to bring the best out of me. They gave me the freedom to express myself and take risks, which was crucial for my growth."

As a young player in a competitive environment, he faced stiff competition for places and had to navigate the psychological pressures that came with it. "There were times when I felt frustrated, when I thought I wasn’t being given a chance to show what I could do. But the staff always told me to stay focused and keep working hard. That advice stuck with me, even when things got tough."
In 2022, Gyabi’s time at Manchester City came to an end, with the midfielder making the decision to leave the club. Plymouth Argyle, then, presented an attractive proposition, offering the chance to start afresh in a new environment and prove himself at a different level. "When I came to Plymouth, I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I had to learn to read the game quicker, to anticipate, and to work harder. But the foundation laid at Manchester City helped me to absorb the necessary adjustments and thrive in this new environment."
Now, as he looks back on his journey, Gyabi identifies specific moments that have shaped him into the player he is today. "Maturity has come with time," he acknowledges. "As a young player, I was too eager to impress, too focused on myself. But as I grew, I realized that it’s not just about me; it’s about being part of a team. At Plymouth, I’ve learned to rely on my teammates, to support them, and to trust in their abilities. This newfound understanding has been instrumental in my development, both on and off the pitch."
With a promising future ahead, Gyabi’s thoughts turn to the mentors who have guided him along the way. "The staff at Manchester City will always be grateful for the support and opportunities they provided. But I must also acknowledge the coaches and players at Plymouth, who have shown faith in me and helped me to grow. I’m grateful for the journey, and I’m excited about what the future holds."
