Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen issued a series of strong statements on Tuesday, warning US President Donald Trump after his threat of tariffs against EU countries over Greenland that any attempt to start a trade war with Europe would be met with a decisive response.
Frederiksen said they would not compromise on issues of sovereignty, identity, borders or democracy, stressing that the situation had wider implications for the global order, Reuters reported. The prime minister also described the current situation as a “dark chapter”.
