Chief coach Sunrisers Hyderabad Daniel Vettori addressed the disappointed campaign of the IPL 2025 team after their washing against the capitals in Delhi in Hyderabad on Monday. After SRH began as a trailblazers with an aggressive tab approach, only three victories managed in 11 games, quoting the unexpected gaming conditions and complex surfaces as key factors of their performance.
Hyderabad’s Home Ground conditions have proven to be challenging this season, with teams exceeding 200-Runs in only four out of 11 shifts, compared to seven out of 12 times last year.

“I definitely didn’t say after every match that I supported an aggressive approach. I said we were going to assess the conditions and this year the conditions were not as we expected. If you look at last year, there were many highly valuable games,” Vettori said after a press conference after the match.
“Especially these surfaces were a bit different. It was complicated, it wasn’t easy for the dough. Everything we were talking about is the evaluation of conditions, trying to read the game and understand what to do in certain situations.
This season, the coach has worked on the various nature of the playgrounds, with two surfaces supporting a high score, while others preferred fast pitchors.
“There were two surfaces that were 250 plus, and there were four, which were probably more favorable for fast pitchers. Not so much that it was spinning, but the new ball was a bit sticky, hard to hit, did not come to the bat.

The result left DC in the fifth position with 13 points out of six victories, four losses and without origin, while SRH remained eighth with seven points out of three victories, seven losses and without result.
