
The 46 -year -old Dance teacher from Kollam was sentenced to 52 years of strict imprisonment for sexual abuse of a seven -year -old boy.
A quick special court (POCSO), Thiruvananthapuram, also imposed a fine of 3.25 GBP Lakh on the accused Sunil Kumar of Thulasimuk, Kollam. Judge Fast Track Court (Pocso) Anju Meera Birla noted that the accused who is a teacher does not deserve any indulgence when he betrayed trusted students in him.
Sunil Kumar will have to undergo another 3.5 years of simple imprisonment unless he pays a fine.
The special prosecutor of RS Vijay Mohan appeared for prosecution. Sunil Kumar was accused of forcing the boy for unnatural sexual actions on more occasions when he trained with him from 2017 to 2019.
When the child showed unwillingness to attend classes, his parents encouraged him to continue when he put him down on laziness. Under the threat of the teacher, the boy also did not publish his shocking experience to his family. He informed his parents only when they were preparing for the mission of their younger brother also the same dance teacher on classes. The young victim was given advice after the incident.
Suneesh N. and Suresh MR, who were inspectors at the Pangode police station, investigated a complaint against the teacher. The accused also has a case against him registered at the police station Kadakkal for sexual abuse of a 12 -year -old boy.
