The Dalit youth was undressed, blessed and attacked by a group from another community over the alleged intermediate lane by a love affair in the district of Chhattisgarh’s Sakti 9 April. Videos about threshing and injured victim were interrogated by attackers, Friday (April 11, 2025).
So far, six people have been arrested, including family members of a sixteen -year -old girl whose house was visited by the victim, the police said. The victim is treated at Raigarh Medical College in the neighboring Raigarh district.
Brutal attack
According to relatives, the 21 -year -old victim visited the Girl House in the village under the jurisdiction of the Malkharoda Police Station on the evening of 8 April after threatening to consume poison. He was caught by her family, who, together with some neighbors, undressed and attacked. The brother of the injured youth claimed to have been captured overnight and attacked hookahs, batons, shoes and even needles.
“We come from the Satnami community (a prominent planned caste in Chhattisgarh) and they are Chandras, one of the other groups of backward classes (OVC). Therefore, they were against their courtship. My brother was also subjected to caste slides and filmed him after filming him.”
In one viral video clip, the victim shows a plea for water, but the application is rejected. One person can see how he repeatedly hit him with a similar rope. In another clip you can hear the victim and say that he was hit by needles.
Company registered
Sakti Superintendent Police Ankita Sharma said the police took Suo Motu knowledge of the incident after the video emerged and filed by the company by the local community sattnami to act as a complainant. The case was registered on the basis of the relevant provisions of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including an attempt to murder, and Section 3 (3) (a).
