New Delhi: The Indian Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) suspended the AR Dairy Food PVT license. LTD based in Dindigulu, Tamil Nadu, for the production, transport and sale of Ghee. The suspension, effective from 13 June 2025, is governed by a detailed investigation of serious violations, according to a person in knowledge and documents that Mint sees.
On the basis of the provisions of the Food and Standards (FSS) Act (FSS) of 2006, dairy and its representatives could face a number of serious sanctions such as severe monetary fines, imprisonment and blacklisters.
The company reportedly added falsified GHI to Tirumal Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), with potential foreign fats detected. This action comes after the previous order to suspend from 14 February 2025, which was canceled by Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, which ordered FSSSAI.
According to the Food Safety Standards Act, several tests such as chromatography of gas-drip (GLC) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) have been checked to check the falsification of ghee. These tests analyze the profile of Ghee fatty acids. The presence of plant compounds such as P-Sitosterol, which are not in pure milk fat, confirms falsification.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust manages the Operations and Finance of the Temple of the Venkateswara in Tirumale and is one of the most visited religious centers around the world.
The FSSAI decision is followed by a previous suspension order from February 14, 2025, which was canceled by the Madura Court in Madras. The court ordered the FSSAI to provide personal hearing before the new decision was issued.
After this directive, hearing was held on June 3, 2025, where the AR food representatives did not provide a satisfactory explanation or documentary evidence to the FSSAI official who dealt with these accusations.
FSSAI quoted several serious violations. First, it was found that the company sells and distributes Ghee TTD without a proper license for changing or re -designation. The Company has not been licensed for this activity.
Secondly, the dairy provided false information for both FSSAI and TTD and claimed that Ghee was made in their Dindigul device. In fact, Ghee was taken from another company Sri Vyhnovi Dairy Specialties in Andhra Pradesh. During the personal hearing, the company’s representatives admitted that there was no written agreement with Sri Vyhnavi Dairy, which stated that the arrangement was carried out in “good faith”. They could also not provide information on the trackability of four many Ghee, which were rejected and returned to the dairy Sri.
Questions sent by the Minister of Health Union, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, FSSAI headquarters in Nový Dilli, southern regional office FSSAI in Chennai, Central Bureau of Investigation and AR dairy products remained unanswered until the press. TTD and Sri Vyhnavi Dairy could not be contacted.
FSSAI noted that it was a violation because the company did not report the rejection of the supplied ghee food office.
The order for suspension, seen by Mint, stated that the designated officer concluded that the company was not clearly clear. FSSAI said that the company seemed to deceive the consumer and manipulate the process of providing false information.
FSSAI emphasized the main mismatch between the declared AR dairy production and the amount of TTD supplied. According to annual revenues, the company produced 14.15 MT GHE in 2021-22 and 155 MT in 2023-24. However, the offer required to supply 850 MT in six months – Far exceeds their reported capacity.
The Central Investigation Office (CBI) is still investigating this matter.
“The case serves as a warning for other food companies that such violations will not be tolerated and will protect consumers from potentially adulterated products and false information,” said the person who is with this matter asking for anonymity.
FSSAI ensures food safety through regular risks based and random collection of food products. The Central and State Food Safety Department carries out these inspections to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
