Shakira and Burna Boy team up for “Dai Dai”, the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.The song combines Afrobeats and Latin rhythms in a multilingual pop track. In one part of the song, the singers mention several soccer nations.“Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia,” Shakira sings. “Mexico, Japan, Korea, Netherlands.After the first chorus, Shakira and Burna Boy sing separate verses before reuniting for a duet.The release comes days after FIFA announced that Shakira, Madonna and BTS will headline the first half of the tournament’s finals at MetLife Stadium on July 19. The lineup was prepared by Chris Martin from Coldplay.The halftime show will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise US$100 million to help children access education and football.Last week, Shakira shared the trailer for “Dai Dai” on social media. In the clip, she was seen dancing in the Maracanã Stadium while singing part of the opening verse.“This is where / you belong,” she sang. “What once broke you/made you strong.”The World Cup is co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and will be held in June and July.
