Officials told the CM that the cyclone made landfall near Ongole, uprooting several trees and causing extensive waterlogging of agricultural fields in Nellore district.

Mr. Naidu said the cyclonic effect is likely to subside completely by November 3 night and the next four to five hours will be crucial as more rain is expected in Bapatla, Guntur, Prakasam, Palnadu, Krishna, NTR, Eluru and West Godavari districts.

He ordered restoration work to be started on a war footing in the heavily affected districts of Prakasam and Bapatla while encouraging the efforts made to mitigate the impact of the cyclone.
