Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on the outskirts of Hyderabad
A total of 35 flights were canceled at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad on Tuesday (October 28, 2025) as Cyclone Montha approached the Andhra Pradesh coast, disrupting air operations to coastal destinations. Most of the affected flights were heading to or arriving from Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada.
IndiGo was the most affected, canceling 15 arrivals and 15 departures. The affected services included routes between Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry and Vijayawada, which are key coastal sectors currently facing heavy rain and strong winds due to the impact of the cyclone.
Air India Express canceled two arrivals (IX 2745, IX 2744 from Visakhapatnam) and three departures (IX 2885, IX 2819 to Visakhapatnam and IX 2743 to Vijayawada).
The concerned airlines had already informed the passengers earlier, said a Hyderabad airport official.
IndiGo took to X on October 27 and issued a travel advisory asking all passengers to check their flight status before heading to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Rajahmundry airports.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad airport has also reached out to X and issued a passenger advisory asking passengers to check with their respective airlines and plan their journey accordingly.
