Cyberabad has started the process of re-verification of over 1.37 lakh CCTV cameras installed under the ‘Nenu Saitham’ initiative across the Commissionerate to ensure that all cameras remain functional and up-to-date.

During a video conference attended by station officers and sub-inspectors from all police stations, Commissioner M. Ramesh reviewed the condition, maintenance, geo-tagging and re-verification of the cameras.

Police officials informed the meeting that a total of 1,37,042 ‘Nenu Saitham’ CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire Cyberabad Commissionerate. Of these, 42,475 are located in Serilingampally zone, 53,424 in Kukatpally zone and 41,143 in Quthbullapur zone.

Mr. Ramesh directed the officials to identify the malfunctioning cameras and ensure their immediate repair. Police stations have been asked to assess areas requiring additional surveillance coverage and take steps to facilitate the installation of new cameras where necessary.

He further instructed police officers to ensure that all cameras under the initiative are geo-tagged and that their records are regularly updated.

As part of efforts to expand the surveillance network, the police have been asked to encourage residents, commercial establishments, housing associations and educational institutions to participate in the ‘Nenu Saitham’ program by installing CCTV cameras facing public roads.

He also directed station officials and sub-inspectors to regularly monitor the performance of CCTV cameras within their jurisdiction and conduct periodic inspections to ensure uninterrupted surveillance coverage.
