Cyberabad Police, SCSC organizes anti-drug awareness session for youth on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse

Cyberabad Police and the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) organized the fourth edition of Coffee with a Cop on Friday, bringing together students and young professionals for an interactive session on drug abuse awareness and resistance to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Held at Inorbit Mall, Mindspace, the seminar on Building Resilience in a Changing World – Drug Abuse Awareness featured Inspector General of Police, Multi Zone-I, S. Chandrasekhar Reddy as the keynote speaker.
Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy shared his personal journey to the Indian Police Service in the gathering and emphasized that discipline, perseverance and resilience are the keys to achieving long-term goals. He called on young people to make responsible decisions and avoid substance abuse, describing drug addiction as a social challenge that destroys lives, families and communities.
Drawing on his police experience, the senior officer spoke about peer pressure, the cycle of addiction, the legal consequences of narcotics-related offences, the importance of reporting drug-related activity and the need to seek early support. He urged the participants to become ambassadors for a drug-free society, saying that every positive decision contributes to a stronger and safer nation.
The event was inaugurated by Rashmi Srivastava, Director – Strategic Project Execution, SCSC, who emphasized the importance of creating platforms where youth can directly interact with law enforcement agencies on issues affecting their lives.
The session was moderated by SCSC CEO Naved Alam Khan, who encouraged participants to engage in discussions on resisting peer pressure, recognizing early warning signs of substance abuse and supporting friends facing addiction.
The program ended with an interactive rapid-fire and a message emphasizing personal responsibility in drug abuse prevention. The event was also attended by industry representatives including Vanitha Datl of ELICO Ltd. and Shravan Gone of K. Raheja Corp.
