Cyberabad Police, Ministry of Labor distribute welfare cards to 256 construction workers

The Cyberabad Police in collaboration with the Telangana Labor Department organized a Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Registration Card Distribution Program and Welfare of Labor Awareness Program at SAS I Towers, Khajaguda on Thursday.

Around 256 eligible construction workers from various states received registration cards in the program held under the auspices of Raidurgam Police Station. Cyberabad Commissioner of Police M. Ramesh addressed the gathering and highlighted the welfare schemes available through the Telangana Building Welfare Board and other construction workers.

The workers were informed about benefits like ESI, EPF, insurance cover, financial assistance in marriage and maternity, compensation in case of accidental or natural death, disability support, hospital treatment, funeral expenses, skill development training and free health check-ups.

Officials have called on builders, contractors and construction companies to ensure mandatory registration of all eligible workers to access government social security schemes. Representatives of construction companies ensured cooperation in facilitating registrations.

The program was attended by Kukatpally Zone DCP Ritiraj, Serilingampally Zonal Commissioner Narayan Amit, Additional DCP M. Sudarshan, ACP Ch. Sreedhar, labor officers and other police personnel.
