The Cyberabad Police on Friday announced an accidental insurance cover of ₹1,000 for 150 traffic marshals working under the Society Security Council for Cyberabad to improve the welfare and safety of citizens contributing to traffic management.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh said the policies, sponsored by Score10, were meant to provide financial security to traffic marshals and their families in case of any unforeseen incident on duty. He described traffic commissioners as an integral part of the city’s traffic management system, saying they perform their duties with full legal authority, often in high-risk road environments.
The commissioner also announced that awareness programs such as ‘No Honk’ campaigns and basic legal training would be organized for traffic commissioners.
Score10 chairman Narayana Swaroop said traffic commissioners perform their duties with exceptional dedication and some even save lives at critical moments. He said a one-year accident insurance policy of ₹1,000 will provide protection during a medical emergency.
The meeting was attended by senior police officers, Score10 representatives, SCSC officials and traffic marshals from across the Cyberabad Commissionerate.
