
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and Sultan Qaboos University in Oman signed a letter of understanding (Lou) to strengthen academic and research cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Sayyid Fahd Bin Al Julanda Al said, vice -chairman, Sultan Qaboos University, and ARUN AU, registrar, CUSAT, in the presence of Godavarthi Venkata Srinivas, Indian ambassador Oman, along with higher academics from both sides.
Lou sets a framework for extensive cooperation, including the exchange of scientists, members of the faculty, scientists and experts in teaching, research and sharing ideas. It also facilitates participation in conferences, symposiums and international meetings and at the same time opens trips to faculty members to make a free time in the partner institution.
Common research projects, technological exhibitions and supervision of postgraduate students at the level of master’s and doctoral studios will be supported in the partnership. This agreement also supports students’ exchange in the areas of mutual interest and adhere to the academic regulations of both universities. In addition, both institutions have committed to sharing academic resources – including books, publications, theses, research materials and software – and at the same time respect copyright and licensing agreements, according to communication.
The agreement makes it easier to visit academics, scientists and students with the financing of cooperation activities, and will be determined by mutual consent. This partnership is expected to expand academic opportunities, improve research cooperation and deepen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Sultan Qaboos University and Cusat.
