The southern railway piloted the current reservation system for Vande Bharat Express at the stations on the route, allowing passengers to book tickets up to 15 minutes before the train departure at the stations throughout the state. The modification was carried out in the passenger reservation system with effect from July 17th.
The southern railway introduced this facility for eight Vande Bharat trains under the division.
Ticket reservation equipment is available for central Vande Bharat Express (20631) and Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express (20632).
This facility was limited earlier and restricted passengers from the reservation at the stations on the route as soon as the train leaves the source station. With the new system, such unoccupied accommodation will now be available for the current reservation at the stations on the route, which is a great benefit to passengers and allowing better occupation of the train, the statement said.
