The Tirupati police arrested a gang who resorted to the public by promising to offer a double amount of demonized banknotes of 2,000 GBP in exchange for 500 banknotes.
A person called Chinna Swamy who claimed that transactions are “legal” and in accordance with government rules. Jagadish, a victim of his noble promises, Jagadish, and his friends arrived on the highway Sullurpet 7.
A person who claims to be a personal assistant to Chinna Swama has checked the statutory payment worth a legal selection procedure with Jagadish and diverted it to a nearby room where Swamy would offer his crore 2.5 GBP in 2,000 notes to indicate. After Hoodwinking Jagadish, the group fled from the place by jumping to the waiting SUV. His attempt to stop the vehicle and catch them became futile.
Although the details were unclear, the Tirupati Superintendent of Police (SP) V. Harshavardhan Raju created a team under the representative of the Superintendent (NAIDUPETA) G. Chenchu Babu and Sullurpet Circle Inspector (CI) M. Muralikrishn.
By gathering the victim’s details and watching the recording records, the team traced the culprits and four of them arrested near Bhudanam Toll Plaza on the NAIDUPETA-NELLORE highway, while one was held in Tirupati. Cash of 73.2 GBP Lakh was confiscated from their possession, in addition to fake notes of 2,000 ₹, six mobile routers Wi-Fi, two SUVs and five mobile phones.
When Mr. Harshavardhan Raju addressed the media after checking the false remarks, the public called on not to drop prey to cheaters and cheaters.
They were arrested as Angbati Santosh aka chinna swamy (37), Barri Raveja (39), K. Hemakar Rao (45), Satti Venkata Reddy (41) and Mamidi Umamahesh (28)
